Guided Tour at the former Stadthaus (Führung auf englisch)
During the Nazi era, the ‘Stadthaus’ at Neuer Wall/Stadthausbrücke was a centre of terror. It housed the police headquarters as well as the command centers of the Gestapo and the Criminal Investigation Department. During a tour of the ‘Stadthöfe,’ Maren Degener discusses the architectural and historical history of the building complex, the crimes committed by the police departments based there, and the consequences these had for thousands of persecuted women and men.
